Accessing the administration dashboard

The admin dashboard can be accessed by pointing your browser to the ‘admin.php’ file of your website. For example if you website resides at http://example.com, you may then access the administration dashboard at http://example.com/admin.php.

You will then be prompted to log in using you administrator username / email and password. If you forget your password you may initiate a password reset by entering in your username / email and clicking the forgot password button. The system will then reset the password and email it to your email address attributed to your administrator account

Safety and security

Online security is of absolute importance both to yourself and others who use your website.
Passwords: Please use secure passwords, a good password generally consists of a mixture of numbers and letters which is longer than at least 8 characters, a secure password is never a dictionary word or it does not bear any personal sentiment (eg: birthdays, anniversaries, names). A secure password is also unique, for example your password used for the system should not be the same as your Facebook or Twitter password.

Password management: We understand that managing many unique passwords for many online accounts can get messy. We recommend using a good password manager to store and encrypt your passwords such as Keepass which is an open source, cross platfrom (Windows / Linux / Apple Mac) password safe and can be downloaded for free here: http://keepass.info/

Phishing: Valente Online or the Valente Online CMS Maestro will never, under any circumstances, email you requesting you to verify your username and password. If you do receive an email that appears to come from Valente Online or from the Valente Online CMS Maestro requesting you to divulge your login details or verify your account, please treat this as a scam and do not under any circumstances divulge or enter in your login details.

Common sense: Please be sensible with your private information, only administrators that you allow (please see the administrator section) have access to your Valente Online CMS Maestro installation. Also be vigilant and look out for suspicious behaviour with users as well as bandwidth usage, as this could indicate that someone has compromised your website

remember, the biggest security risk online is human error, which no system can ever compensate for.
