Pages

Pages is a content type, which is suited to content of a more permanent or static nature, for example the ‘about us’ page or the ‘our vision’ page would be a page.
Creating a page (Pages >> Add New Page): Add new pages by completing the fields

  • Page title: The title of the page to appear in both the title bar of the browser and as the heading of the page
  • URL Alias: The url you wish for the page to have, if you do not enter one, the system will automatically generate one for you based on the page title
  • Page Description: A brief description of the page’s content which will be included in the meta tags of that page, which will be the description that search engine listing will use
  • Page keywords: Relevant keywords pertaining to the page’s content will be included into the page’s meta tags for search engine indexing
  • Saving: Saving the page will save it as a draft and the page will not be publicly viewable
  • Publishing: will publish the page, therefore making it publicly viewable

Editing page (Pages >> List Pages >> Edit): allows you to edit and existing page

Deleting a page (Pages >> List Pages >> Delete): Note deleting a page cannot be undone, and the page’s content cannot be restored once deleted. Therefore deleting a page is absolute. If you wish to simply not have the page publicly viewable, you may edit the page and save it instead of publishing it.

Articles

Articles is a content type suited for frequently updates content, such as news articles or blog posts. Articles are generally displayed in chronological order and could be filtered by category

Creating an article (Articles >> Add New Article): Add new Articles by completing the fields

  • Article title: The title of the Article to appear in both the title bar of the browser and as the heading of the Article
  • URL Alias: The url you wish for the Article to have, if you do not enter one, the system will automatically generate one fore you based on the Article title
  • Article Description: A brief description of the Articles content which will be included in the meta tags of that Article, which will be the description that search engine listing will use
  • Article keywords: Relevant keywords pertaining to the Articles content which will be included into the Articles meta tags for search engine indexing
  • Saving: Saving the Article will save it as a draft and the Article will no0t be publicly viewable
  • Publishing: will publish the Article, therefore making it publicly viewable

Web forms

Web forms allow you to create custom web forms for your website, for instance an inquiry form or a contact form.

Creating a web form (forms >> create new form): There are two steps to creating and building your form. 1. Navigate to the form creation page, enter the title of the form, the description etc and then save the form. 2. Navigate to the form list page and locate your newly created form, and click the manage button, which will then load the form builder. The form builder will then allow you to create the form fields. Currently the form builder supports text entry boxes, text areas, tick boxes and form sub heading. The order field in the form builder determines the order that the form field is displayed in an ascending order.

Editing an web form (forms >> List Forms): In the form list you may edit a form by selecting the edit button, which will allow you to edit the form’s attributes

Deleting a web form (forms >> List Forms): Select the delete button to delete a specific form, note that this action is absolute and once a form has been deleted it cannot be restored.

Categories

Categorization and organisation of content.

Creating a category (Categories >> create category): Enter in the required fields for the category and click save. The category will then appear in the category drop down list of all associated content

Viewing a category: You may view all content of a specific category by using the categories url alias, for example if the categories url alias is cats than it’s url would be www.mydomain.com/?q=category/cats or www.mydomain.com/category/cats depending on your url settings

Menus

The menus component allows for the control of the website’s main menu

Creating Menu Items (Menus >> Create Menu Item):

  • Menu title: The title or text for the link of the menu
  • Menu location: You have an option to point the menu to content managed by the Valente Online CMS Maestro by selecting the content from the drop down list. Alternatively you may have the menu item link to an external page by leaving the drop down list as ‘none’ and inserting the url manually in the text box bellow
  • Menu level: This value determines the order in which to display the menu items in ascending order, there fore a lower value will appear first or above that a higher value

Editing Menu Items (Menus >> Menu Items >> Edit): This section allows you to alter the properties of a menu items

Deleting Menu Items (Menus >> Menu Items >> Delete): Note that deleting a menu item is absolute and cannot be undone
