Connecting Via Filezilla FTP Client (Windows, Linux, Mac)

Opening File-zilla, you will need to create a profile under the site manager of File-zilla on your website’s FTP account. Click on ‘File >> Site Manager’ which will open up File-zilla’s site manager window, now click on the ‘New Site’ button near the bottom of the page and enter you domain name as the site name. File-zilla will then present you with the FTP login details dialogue for the newly created site

In the host field, enter you domain name without the ‘http://’ part. Server type must be set to ‘FTP – File Transfer Protocol’. Logon type must be set to ‘Account’.

Enter you c-panel username in the user field as well as your c-panel password in the password field. The account field can be filled with any value you wish, as it is simply for identification purposes.

Once you have entered the required values you may click the connect button and begin uploading files to your site’s server.

Connecting Via Nautilus (Linux only)

Nautilus, the default file manager and explorer for Ubuntu, has a deceivingly simple look. It may look simple however it manages to pack in a few great features such as tabbed folder browsing and FTP capabilities. Using Nautilus as your FTP client in Ubuntu is quite straight forward, as there is no special configurations required. Nautilus supports various kinds of ftp connections such as FTP with login, Public FTP and WebDAV.

1. Open Nautilus or your home folder, select File > Connect To Server

2. You will then be presented with the server connection dialogue, select your server type

3. Enter you FTP account details

Nautilus will then connect to the FTP server and display the contents of the file system for you to browse and alter.
